Here and There

It's been a while. Haven't had much to write.

Williamstown/Western Mass Obeservations:
Men with rat tails. Teenagers singing on the street. Loud professors. Shady college bars with jocks buying pitchers. Many copies of the NYT. Ice cream trucks. Abercrombie and Urban Outfitters. Affluence. Bakeries filled with donuts. Bars called "Key West". Evenings spent watching the traffic go by. What traffic? No cars. Ipods everywhere. SUVs.

The Things I Miss (some of which I didn't think I would):
Talking politics with strangers on the bus. Cafe Hafooch. 2nd hand smoke. Awkwardness at the Abu-Turkis (my Hebron family). Constantly having my bag checked by attractive security guards who wish me a good morning. Shopping in the shuk. Smoking nargila with friends. The starts of the desert. Fresh pita with zatar. Fresh Rugalah. Little cars. The call of prayer.

I am getting homesick for another country.....
