GOING DOWN SOUTH...

Today is the day. In 2 hours I will be waiting at Binyanei Hauma for a van to come take me to the Arava. My big back pack has never been so full, my new rolling bag is bursting, my back pack is super heavy because it has the laptop in it and I need to carry another bag with a pair of shoes and my camera. I hope I can get all this stuff down many flights of stairs....after that I should be home free.
So long, Jerusalem. It's been nice knowing ya.

Palm trees look funny when its snowing...

The other day while walking to work it started snowing. It didn't collect at all because everything was wet from rain, but the olive, almond, and palm trees around my office looked a little out of place with the white stuff coming down.

Last night Louisa and I went to Ramallah to meet some friends for Chinese food. Good times. Except for the fact that the area around Qalandia is not very well lit so we stepped in puddles. Quite hazardous.

I just came across a website with various MP3s and have been listening to Postal Service non-stop for the last 20 minutes. I don't know how I would have survived finals without them. I miss having music. Anyone want to send me mixes of new music?

Once again, last one in the office.

Six days and counting. I still don't know how I'm getting down there. I'm not impressed.

The View from Here

I love that I can look out my office window and see sheep and goats grazing on the hill amongst the olive and almond trees. Although I am getting tired of the city and work and my commute and the view of Jewish settlements, the Wall, and Machsom 300, there are parts about this that I wouldn't change.

Spent a fun weekend in Tel Aviv with the UN folks who got out of Gaza for a few days. I really need to start collecting business cards, and make some of my own.

9 days until i move down south. Crazy...

Back and Forth

Went to Amman for the weekend. Good times. A little too much hitch-hiking. Note to self- read quidebook before setting out to a new country, even if you have been there before.
The shkedias are porachat-ing. Wasn't Tu B'shvat LAST week? Better late than never, I guess. I have no motivation to do work. I only have about a week left, and SO MANY papers to reformat. I need to do stuff, because I agreed to finish the project, in exchange for borrowing a laptop to use at the Arava. Good times.
